The opening ceremony was attended by Otabek Umarov, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan, and Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, an NOC representative. As part of the event, a meeting was also held between the leadership of the National Olympic Committees of Uzbekistan, China, and Qatar.

This year, Uzbekistan’s team is competing in six sports with a total of 24 athletes. At the opening ceremony, the country’s flag bearers were alpine skiing team members Jasur Shamsiddinov and Feruza Bobokulova.

Uzbek athletes have already begun competing in the games. Short-track speed skater Daniil Yeybog was the first to represent Uzbekistan at the Harbin 2025 Winter Asian Games. In the quarterfinals of the 1500-meter race, he recorded a time of 2:30.60 and advanced to the semifinals.

Yeybog also competed in the 500-meter short-track race, finishing in seventh place. However, in the 1500-meter semifinal, his result was not sufficient to contend for a medal.

As the Harbin 2025 Winter Asian Games continue, Uzbekistan’s delegation will persist in their participation and strive for medals in various sports.
