Sport
Famous Hong Kong actor and stuntman Jackie Chan has become one of the torchbearers for the Olympic torch relay of the 2026 Winter Games in Milan. He ran his leg among the ancient ruins of the city of Pompeii, marking his third participation in an Olympic torch relay.
The Olympic torch relay for the 2026 Winter Games in Milan has gained a bright participant. Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan carried the Olympic torch along a historical route—the ancient streets of the city of Pompeii, destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
For Jackie Chan, this is already his third experience as a torchbearer. Previously, he participated in the relays of the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing. His participation symbolically emphasizes the connection between cultures and continents ahead of the main sporting event.
After the leg with the movie star, the relay continued in Naples, where on December 23, the torch was carried by legends of Italian football—coach of the Uzbekistan national team Fabio Cannavaro and world champion Ciro Ferrara. Subsequently, the relay will pause for the Christmas holidays.
The total length of the torch route is almost 12 thousand kilometers across Italy. The final point of the relay will be the Milan stadium "San Siro," where the grand opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games will take place on February 6, 2026.
