The "K-Rail One Team" has launched the "Uzbekistan High-Speed Railway Construction Project Feasibility Study (F/S)" initiative, funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Korea Export-Import Bank.

According to the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) on December 13, the K-Rail One Team, consisting of Korail, the National Railroad Agency, SamAn, and Dongmyeong Technology Corporation, is conducting a feasibility study for the construction of a high-speed railway connecting Tashkent and Samarkand in Uzbekistan.

The project, set to run until March 2026, includes on-site surveys, forecasts of future transportation demand, the development of a master plan for infrastructure, cost estimation, economic viability analysis, and training programs for skill enhancement.

Korail and the Railway Agency aim to analyze all stages of the project, from railway design and construction to its operation and maintenance, to ensure its quality and successful implementation.

A representative of the "K-Rail One Team" stated: "In June of this year, we exported high-speed train vehicles for the first time. Based on the Railway Agency's expertise in construction and design, along with Korail's 20 years of KTX operation experience, we have laid the groundwork for entering the Central Asian market. We are committed to actively exporting Korean railway technology worldwide," reports Yonhap News.
