Kremlin Responds to Trump's Statements on Russia

Moscow has expressed readiness for an equal and respectful dialogue with the United States but is still waiting for signals from Washington. This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov in response to Donald Trump’s remarks on sanctions against Russia.
“We are closely monitoring all statements and paying attention to every detail. President Putin has repeatedly emphasized his willingness for a fair and respectful dialogue. Such a dialogue took place during Trump’s first presidency. Currently, we are waiting for signals, but none have been received yet,” Peskov said.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said he does not wish to harm Moscow and called for an end to the military actions in Ukraine. He warned of new sanctions and tariffs on all Russian exports to the U.S. if the conflict continues.
Peskov noted that Trump actively used sanctions during his first term. However, he emphasized that any hostile actions against Russia would have consequences.
He also pointed out that the U.S. benefits economically from its support for Ukraine by profiting from energy exports to Europe, creating jobs domestically, and boosting the defense industry through military orders.
Russia reiterated its openness to constructive dialogue while underscoring the importance of equality and mutual respect in international relations.
