Laziz Kudratov and David Fogel Locked in New Priorities for US Investors
Economy
The economic partnership between Tashkent and Washington has crossed a historical milestone and is moving toward a level of direct interregional cooperation. After mutual trade confidently surpassed the one-billion-dollar mark, the sides transitioned into establishing practical mechanisms for American capital. The document, signed at a high ministerial level, opens the doors for direct contacts between the businesses of both nations, turning abstract agreements in high-tech and energy sectors into real investment projects.
On June 8, the Head of the MIPT of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Assistant Secretary of Commerce of the US, David Fogel, held talks, reaffirming the United States' status as a key partner. Following the results of 2025, mutual trade turnover exceeded 1 billion dollars. The parties outlined new investment projects in energy, mining, transport, AI, and digital technologies. The primary outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the MIPT and the US Commercial Service. The document is aimed at providing direct support to regional business delegations, developing interregional ties, and promoting joint industrial initiatives.
