A series of large-scale personnel shifts has occurred within the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. Following the resignation of Minister Asilbek Khudoyarov, nearly the entire leadership team has been refreshed. The new appointments signal a strengthened focus on transparency and the development of public-private partnerships within the healthcare sector.
By decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a new leadership team for the Ministry of Health has been formed. First Deputy Minister Alisher Boboev, along with deputies Elmira Basitkhanova and Farkhodjon Tashpulatov, have been relieved of their duties.
Otabek Imamov has been appointed as the new First Deputy Minister. Jaloliddin Asamutdinov takes over the role of Deputy Minister for Compliance and Anti-Corruption Control. The team of deputies also includes Adkham Khudaykulov, Sherzod Mukhamedov, and Ilkhomjon Umurzakov (formerly overseeing PPP at the Ministry of Economy and Finance). Abdulla Azizov has been appointed Director of the reorganized Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry. This rotation is aimed at a systemic overhaul of the industry and the implementation of rigorous oversight regarding the use of state funds.
