Low prices are set in the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey transport corridor

The development of this multimodal transport route will contribute to strengthening economic ties and expanding trade potential between Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey. It will also improve the availability and efficiency of transport in the region and contribute to the development of economy and strengthening of cooperation between the countries.
The first meeting of railway administrations of the countries-participants of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey multimodal transport corridor was held in Istanbul, where important issues related to the development of this transport route were discussed. This was reported by the press service of JSC “O'zbekiston temir yo'llari”.
Reportedly, the main topic of discussion was the introduction of competitive tariffs on the railway and the increase in the volume of transportations along the route. The parties agreed that the establishment of affordable and competitive prices for transportations along the route will contribute to an increase in the volume of transportations of goods and cargoes.
In the course of the meeting the relevant Protocol between the railway administrations of the participating countries was signed.
Recall that the Protocol on the formation of the transport corridor Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey was signed during the 12th meeting of transport ministers of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organisation. This corridor is an important element in the development of transport infrastructure and trade relations between the countries of the region.
