Lukashenko to pay official visit to Uzbekistan

At the invitation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on 7-9 February. This was reported by the press service of the President.
It is noted that the programme of the visit includes talks at the highest level, during which practical aspects of further expansion of Uzbek-Belarusian multifaceted cooperation will be discussed.
"The focus is on increasing mutual trade turnover, developing co-operation ties in such sectors as agriculture, light and food industry, pharmaceuticals, communications and others," the statement said.
Moreover, they will discuss partnership development programmes in vocational education, healthcare, culture, sports and tourism.
Following the talks, it is planned to adopt a package of bilateral documents.
It should be noted that these days, on the eve of the visit, a number of business events with the participation of regions and business circles of the two countries - the second Interregional Forum and a meeting of the Business Council - are being held in Tashkent.
