Mirziyoyev Congratulates Putin on His Birthday and Discusses Bilateral Cooperation

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 7. The two leaders discussed the state and prospects of Uzbekistan-Russia relations, as well as international and regional issues.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mirziyoyev congratulated the Russian leader on his birthday, wishing him health, well-being and success. He also wished prosperity to the Russian people.
The presidents discussed bilateral relations and noted growth in mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as expanding cooperation between enterprises in industry, energy and other areas.
They also reviewed the results of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the third Council of Regions, held the previous day in Fergana. Mirziyoyev and Putin highly assessed the outcomes of the meetings.
Particular attention was paid to cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The two sides noted the recent Russian Art Festival “World of Arts” held in Uzbekistan. The Days of Uzbek Culture are currently taking place in Moscow.
The leaders also exchanged views on international and regional issues during the call. They discussed the schedule of upcoming events and further contacts.
