More than 12.7 thousand houses and 22 thousand household plots remain flooded in 39 regions of the Russian Federation. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this.

It is noted that in a number of regions there is an improvement in the flood situation.

In particular, in Orsk, the water continues to recede from flooded areas. "The situation is stabilising. About 200 houses have been freed from water over the day," the ministry said.

In Orenburg, the situation with the flood is worsening, evacuation of the population continues.

"The water dam in Orenburg is controlled round the clock. More than 2.9 thousand residential houses and 4.9 thousand household plots have been flooded. 1,531 people, including 325 children, have been evacuated from the flooded areas," the report said.

A total of more than 4,500 people, 979 vehicles, 256 watercraft and 16 unmanned systems are involved in the emergency zone in the Orenburg region.

In Kurgan region 269 residential houses, 409 household plots, one low-water bridge and 7 road sections remain flooded in 12 settlements.

It should be reminded that on 5 April, a dam protecting the city of Orsk from the Ural River broke in the Orenburg Region. The region was placed under a federal state of emergency. The regional government estimates the estimated damage from the flood at 21 billion roubles (over $225m).
