NASA announces launch of Cygnus spacecraft into orbit
Northrop Grumman's Cygnus cargo spacecraft launched to the International Space Station (ISS) has successfully entered orbit. This was announced by the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The flight took place at 20:31 U.S. East Coast from NASA's Wallops Launch Site on the Atlantic coast of Virginia.

Docking of the Cygnus spacecraft with the ISS is scheduled for August 4.

Cygnus will deliver more than 3.7 tons of cargo to the ISS, including food, as well as equipment and materials for scientific research.

The first successful launch of Cygnus took place on September 18, 2013.
