According to the Israeli Prime Minister, he informed US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Israel will not agree to a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip unless it involves the release of hostages held by supporters of the Palestinian radical organisation Hamas. This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
According to Reuters, Anthony Blinken failed to persuade Israel to introduce a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip.
During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Blinken said the United States supports Israel but must do more to protect Palestinian civilians.
"Israel refuses a temporary ceasefire which does not include the release of our hostages," Netanyahu himself told reporters after speaking with Blinken.
Israel's military practices will continue in full force, he said.
"We're not willing to agree to the transfer of money to the Gaza Strip," Netanyahu added.
The Hamas group continues to hold some 250 prisoners of war hostage, according to authorities.
