The World Health Organisation (WHO) has published its latest report on the state of cancer.

New cancer cases to soar 77 percent by 2050, WHO predicts
It is noted that by 2050 the incidence of cancer in the world may increase from 20 million to 35 million cases per year.

There are a number of factors that influence the growth dynamics. Tobacco, alcohol, obesity and air pollution remain key factors in the increase of cancer incidence.

The report notes that in countries with a very high human development index, one in 12 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and one in 71 women will die from it.

In countries with a low human development index, one in 27 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and one in 48 women will die from it.

In 2022, there will be more than 20 million cancer patients and about 10 million deaths on our planet. Lung cancer was the leading cause of cancer deaths (1.8 million deaths, 18.7%).

To avoid such unpleasant situations, WHO issued urgent recommendations to governments in December 2023 to control and regulate the consumption, sale and promotion of e-cigarettes.
