Nodirjon Turgunov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, has arrived in the capital of Saudi Arabia. This is reported by "Dunyo" news agency.

He is 49 years old. Graduated from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies (now the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies).

He began his career as a laboratory assistant at school, worked as an entrepreneur in private structures, the Council of Societies of Friendship and Cultural-Educational Relations of Uzbekistan with Foreign Countries.

In the MFA system since 2016. Worked in various positions in the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2019-2021, Consul General of Uzbekistan in the city of Aktau (Kazakhstan), 2021-2024 – in the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

Fluent in Arabic and Russian.

Nodirjon Turgunov succeeded Ulugbek Maksudov, who served as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia from 2018 to 2024, and was also the permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is headquartered in Jeddah.
