At the video conference chaired by the President, dedicated to strengthening preparations for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and taking mass sports to a new level, it was emphasized that in promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population, not only sports but also proper nutrition plays a crucial role.
According to conducted studies, 44% of the population leads a physically inactive lifestyle, and 36% do not follow healthy eating guidelines.
There is growing concern about the decline in the consumption of grains, cereals, fruits, and vegetables, while salt and sugar intake is increasing. As a result, 56% of people suffer from excess weight, and 38% have issues related to blood pressure. Non-communicable diseases are becoming a major cause of premature death.
In this regard, the nationwide movement "Healthy Person – Healthy Nation" will be launched.
Officials were instructed that every family should be covered by awareness campaigns on healthy eating and physical activity. In this direction, engaging and impactful social advertisements will be prepared and broadcast daily on central television channels.
Overall, it was emphasized that these issues should be legally reinforced, and the law "On Physical Culture and Sports" should be thoroughly revised in a short time to meet modern requirements.
At the meeting, reports from officials and regional leaders were heard, along with proposals from representatives of the sports sector.
