In January-June 2023, the volume of money transfers to Uzbekistan amounted to $5.2 billion, the press service of the Central Bank reports. Compared to the same period last year, the indicator decreased by 21.2%. A strong decline occurred in the second quarter, from $5.06 billion to $2.85 billion.

In June, the number of financial receipts dropped significantly. The volume of transfers is 2.26 times lower compared to the previous year.

Basically, remittances came from Russia - about 80% of total receipts.

Earlier, the World Bank stated that the growth of migrant remittances in Russia could slow down.
