Paralympics-2028 program announced

The International Paralympic Committee has announced the program for the XVIII Summer Paralympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles in 2028. Within the framework of 23 sports, 560 sets of medals will be awarded - 11 more than at the Games in Paris.
At the Paralympics-2028, 4480 quotas will be allocated to athletes - this is 80 more than at the Games-2024. Of these:
According to Hikmat Toshmatov, Deputy Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, "the removal of 4 men's disciplines and the addition of 12 women's disciplines demonstrates progress in ensuring gender equality in parasports."
He also noted an important innovation - the inclusion of para-climbing in the game program:
"This sport is actively developing in Uzbekistan and opens up new opportunities for our athletes."
Particular attention is being paid to changes in weight categories in para-dzyudo and para-fighting, which will require updating team preparation strategies.
