Clashes have erupted again on the Thailand–Cambodia border. According to Thai authorities, the Royal Thai Air Force carried out airstrikes on Cambodian territory on Monday after fighting resumed in several disputed areas of Sa Kaeo Province. Bangkok claims the strikes targeted only military facilities to “render the opponent incapable for a long time.”

Peace Declaration Broken: Thailand–Cambodia Tensions Escalate
Cambodia accuses Thailand of provocation and shelling residential neighborhoods, forcing the evacuation of around 1,150 families. Officials report four deaths and nine injuries in Cambodia. Thailand also confirms casualties on its side, with more than 600 schools closed in affected provinces.

Thai officials say Cambodia responded with tank fire and rocket artillery, while Phnom Penh denies these accusations.

Both countries blame each other for violating the peace declaration signed in October with mediation from Donald Trump.
