A Polish woman stayed more than three hours in a box filled with ice cubes and set a record for frost resistance among women.

It is noted that the result of 48-year-old athlete Katarzyna Jakubowski was 3 hours 6 minutes and 45 seconds.

The record among men belongs to her compatriot Krzysztof Gajewski - he stayed on the ice for 3 hours 11 minutes and 27 seconds.

Before setting the record, the Polish resident reportedly underwent medical examinations and tests to make sure it would not adversely affect her health. Prior to the challenge, she had three training attempts during which she monitored her body temperature fluctuations.

According to the Guinness World Records website, Katarzyna also prepared with oxygen therapy, massage and self-hypnosis.
