As part of the Uzbekistan-Pakistan business forum in Islamabad, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a series of meetings with leaders of leading Pakistani companies.

During the meeting with HRL Group Chairman Zahid Rafiq, joint geological studies of copper, gold, and critical minerals were discussed, utilizing Uzbek expertise. The President supported the company’s initiatives to build the Imam Bukhari complex in Islamabad and a hotel in Samarkand.

The meeting with Engro Group Chairman Ahsan Zafar Sayed focused on projects in the chemical industry and collaboration in livestock development and product supply. The company has extensive experience in energy, petrochemicals, and the agricultural sector.

President Mirziyoyev also discussed cooperation prospects with Gohar Textile founder Gouhar Mustafa, including joint textile production in Uzbekistan and integration of local enterprises into international supply chains.

During the meeting with Go Group CEO Dur Muhammad Ayub, plans to establish an agri-cluster with full-cycle livestock processing in Uzbekistan were supported. The company is a leader in agriculture and the food industry in Pakistan.

These meetings aim to expand bilateral economic cooperation, attract investments, and integrate Uzbek enterprises into international production and trade chains.
