Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov met with heads of Russian regions

The heads of Chechnya, Buryatia, Khakassia and other regions of Russia have arrived in Uzbekistan as part of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Uzbekistan to attend a meeting of the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan.

Kadyrov noted the warm welcome from the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov. "Chechens have a special fondness for Uzbekistan, as the first President of the Chechen Republic, Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, studied here. I am pleased that our countries strive to strengthen relations. I am confident that our joint work will improve regional interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan and promote mutually beneficial cooperation," Kadyrov stated.

In turn, the head of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov, discussed with Abdulla Aripov cooperation in the textile industry, agriculture, and education, including the processing of Uzbek raw materials in Buryatia and the education of Uzbek students in the region.

Additionally, Kaluga region and Uzbekistan are interested in cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. Governor Vladislav Shapsha emphasized the importance of cooperation and the development of joint projects.

The Governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin, also met with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan to discuss further industrial cooperation. A delegation visit to Bukhara and Kashkadarya is planned to develop a roadmap for industrial cooperation.

The head of Khakassia, Valentin Konovalov, discussed with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan the development of partnerships in agriculture, the food industry, and processing industries. The possibility of opening direct air links between Khakassia and Uzbekistan is being considered.

It should be reminded that at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Tashkent on 26 May on a state visit, where he was welcomed with honours, including the raising of state flags and a guard of honour. The main events of the visit will take place on 27 May, when the leaders will discuss the development of Uzbek-Russian relations and adopt a package of bilateral documents.
