On November 21, 2024, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a law introducing amendments and additions to legislative acts aimed at strengthening the protection of flora and fauna.

Penalties have been established for deliberate damage, destruction, or harm to trees, shrubs, or other plants caused during construction or reconstruction processes using chemical or biological agents.

Stronger penalties for obstructing the activities of environmental protection authorities.
Strict measures have been introduced for hindering the lawful activities of state inspectors or failing to comply with their instructions to eliminate violations of environmental laws.

These changes reinforce Uzbekistan’s commitment to ensuring ecological sustainability and preserving natural resources for future generations.
