The "Order of Friendship" was established in the spring of 1994 and is awarded to citizens of Russia and other countries for their services in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between peoples, as well as achievements in science and culture.
To further strengthen cooperation, the President of Uzbekistan also awarded the "Order of Friendship" to People's Artist of the Russian Federation, artistic director of the Moscow Drama Theater, theater and film actor Sergey Bezrukov, and People's Artist of the Russian Federation, ballet artist and director Andris Liepa.
