Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that American journalist Tucker Carlson has indeed interviewed Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Carlson said a day ago that he wanted to talk to the Russian President and that is why he came to Moscow.
At the request of journalists, a Kremlin spokesman explained why Putin decided to grant an interview to Carlson.
"It is in no way pro-Russian, not pro-Ukrainian, it is rather pro-American, but at least it is contrastingly different from the position of traditional Anglo-Saxon media," Peskov said.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the interview may be published on 8 February. The TV presenter himself said that the interview will be published on his X social network account and on the TuckerCarlson.com website.
Tucker Carlson is one of America's most popular television hosts. He hosted his own political talk show on Fox News Channel.
Carlson is known for controversial, discriminatory or conspiracy statements. He has also vehemently criticised US aid to Ukraine and has spoken from pro-Russian positions.
Carlson's interview with Putin will be published on 9 February at 04:00 Tashkent time.
