Qatar is opening its doors: a visa-free regime for Uzbeks
Qatar opened its borders to the Uzbek people by providing a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan. Now citizens of Uzbekistan have the right to stay in Qatar for up to 30 days if they have a return ticket and a valid foreign passport for more than six months.

This change was made possible by the efforts of two countries. The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree facilitating the entry of Qatari citizens into Uzbekistan, and in response, Qatar granted the citizens of Uzbekistan the right to visit its territory without a visa.

This is part of a larger initiative to create a visa-free travel zone between the Gulf and Central Asian countries. President Mirziyoyev himself put forward this idea at the summit of the Central Asian countries and at the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf.

Taking into account the recent meeting of the President of Uzbekistan with the Emir of Qatar, during which an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism and business activities was signed, this event is of particular importance.

The new visa-free regime promises to strengthen ties and expand opportunities for citizens of the two countries.
