Rahmon discusses key energy projects with AIIB

The Tajik president held talks with the bank’s leadership on financing strategic infrastructure initiatives.
On February 14, President Emomali Rahmon received the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zou Jiayi.
Rahmon praised the current level of cooperation and the bank’s contribution to the country’s priority areas of socio-economic development, expressing gratitude to its leadership.
The sides discussed the implementation of major investment projects, including the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant and the continued rehabilitation of the Nurek Hydropower Plant.
They also reviewed prospects for expanding cooperation in energy, transport and urban infrastructure, water resource management, climate adaptation, digitalization, and energy efficiency.
