The head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense (RHBZ) troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, was killed in an explosion caused by an explosive device planted on a scooter. This was announced by the official representative of Russia's Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko.
"According to the investigation, the explosive device was planted on a scooter that was located near the entrance of a residential building," she said.
According to EADaily, the investigation revealed that on the morning of December 17, an explosive device placed on a scooter near the entrance of a multi-story building on Ryazansky Prospekt in Moscow was detonated. As a result, RHBZ chief Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his assistant (according to other reports, the general's driver) were killed.
Investigation Details: A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the killing of two military personnel in Moscow. According to operational services, the explosion occurred at 2/1 Ryazansky Prospekt.
Telegram channels report that the homemade explosive device may have been attached to the scooter’s handlebar. The blast wave shattered windows from the first to the fourth floors of the building and ripped off the entrance door. Three nearby cars were also damaged.
