"This topic is in the works. We are analysing the situation both with prices, volumes and production indicators. We should be ready for all decisions, but the time [of lifting the ban] has not been determined yet," he said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

Speaking about the possibility of changing the volume of fuel supplies to the Eurasian Economic Union countries, the minister said:

"We constantly have requests to increase or decrease indicative balances, in particular, today we discussed with Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, on various oil products."

Since 21 September 2023, the Russian government has imposed restrictions on gasoline and diesel exports to stabilise the domestic market.

On 6 October, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a number of new measures to regulate the fuel market. In particular, Russia cancelled restrictions on export of diesel fuel via pipelines to sea ports for producers supplying at least 50% of diesel fuel produced to the domestic market.
