Saida Mirziyoyeva Discusses Uzbekistan’s WTO Accession With WTO Chief

Head of Uzbekistan’s Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva met with World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The sides discussed the progress of Uzbekistan’s WTO accession negotiations and the remaining work needed to complete the process.
“We discussed how Uzbekistan’s accession to this organization is progressing and what work we still need to complete,” Mirziyoyeva said.
She thanked Okonjo-Iweala for her continued support and expert assistance. “We have already come a long way, and now it is important to maintain the momentum and bring this process to completion,” the Presidential Administration head said.
According to the WTO, Uzbekistan continues to work on outstanding issues in its accession negotiations. In November 2025, the organization reported significant progress, noting that several bilateral negotiations had been concluded, while some issues still required further work.
