Saida Mirziyoyeva’s Large-scale Inspection in the Region
Uzbekistan
A working group led by Saida Mirziyoyeva conducted a detailed inspection of the Khorezm region. The primary objective is the rigorous oversight of the implementation of presidential decrees aimed at the region's social development and the preservation of its unique historical identity.
The visit began with an analysis of critical "pain points" in the social sphere. Facilities that have been awaiting change for years came under scrutiny: School No. 2 and the abandoned, dilapidated Kindergarten No. 49 in the Khanka district. Special attention was paid to the Urgench branch of the State Academy of Choreography; a new building will be constructed for the school and dormitory, allowing for separate educational and residential spaces.
One of the most pressing issues was the operation of the "Urgench-1" major pumping station. This facility supplies drinking water to over a million people but is now in dire need of urgent modernization. At the concluding meeting with regional leadership, Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that while over a hundred problematic issues have already been resolved, the team intends to see every single case through to the end. "It is vital to speak openly about problems and solve them as a matter of priority," she noted.
The cultural portion of the visit took place in Khiva. The inspection covered key monuments within Ichan-Kala, including Kunya-Ark and the Juma Mosque. Discussions focused not only on the restoration and museification processes but also on a comprehensive master plan for the historic center. This will result in the development of a special program to protect the cultural heritage of the Khorezm region, designed to safeguard national identity for future generations.
