Salaries of school principals, their deputies, and preschool education institution directors will be increased
Uzbekistan
The President has signed a new decree aimed at improving the efficiency of the management system in preschool and school education. This was announced by the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Hilola Umarova.
According to the decree, salaries of school principals, their deputies, and directors of preschool educational institutions will be increased.
Specifically, starting September 1, 2025, the base salary rate for school principals will increase by 20%, while that for their deputies will rise by 15%. The base salary rates for preschool directors will be equalized with those of school deputy principals in III and IV category schools.
This salary increase will benefit over 10,000 school principals, around 7,000 preschool directors, and nearly 35,000 deputy principals across the country.
Starting January 1, 2026, school directors and their deputies will receive monthly bonuses of 20% and 10%, respectively, based on their performance indicators, funded by the directors' fund of general education institutions.
Additionally, new staff positions are being introduced in district departments to enable monitoring of students’ academic performance and providing foreign language and vocational training.
A long-service incentive system is being implemented for regional department employees. Approximately 15,000 administrative staff members in the ministry system will receive additional bonuses for years of service.
Furthermore, the bonus payments for school employees will increase from 50% to 75% of the minimum wage.
Another key change: previously, 40% of rental income from vacant school buildings remained within those schools. Now, 75% of these funds will be allocated for school development.
