The official visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, concluded in Samarkand. One of the bright moments was his awarding the "Oliy Darajali Dustlik" order - Uzbekistan's highest award for his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations.
The visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Samarkand lasted two days and ended on April 24. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the leader of Turkmenistan held bilateral talks, discussing the prospects of strategic cooperation.
Within the framework of the cultural program, the heads of state visited the "Eternal City" historical-ethnographic complex and the "Mirages of Time" exhibition, where they became acquainted with the heritage of the peoples of the region.
The ceremony of awarding Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov with the "Oliy Darajali Dustlik" Order - the highest degree of the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Uzbekistan - became a symbol of respect and recognition of his contribution to the development of Uzbek-Turkmen relations.
At the end of the visit, the high-ranking guest was seen off at the Samarkand International Airport by the President of Uzbekistan, who then returned to Tashkent.
