In November 2025, Samarkand will host the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which will be a significant event for the global education sector. On the eve of this event, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, held a meeting in Paris with UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Education, Stefania Giannini.
Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Kungratbay Sharipov met with UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini in Paris. The parties discussed the organization of a meeting of UNESCO department representatives and cooperation in inclusive education.
Stefania Giannini praised the active participation of Uzbek universities in promoting the conference, which has already planned more than 80 events in various countries. One of the key issues discussed was holding a meeting of UNESCO and UNITWIN Networks department representatives in Samarkand.
Minister Sharipov presented Uzbekistan's initiatives for developing inclusive education, emphasizing the need to create equal conditions for learning, especially for people with disabilities. The digitalization of the educational process, the use of artificial intelligence in teaching, and the expansion of student-teacher exchange programs were also discussed.
UNESCO expressed its readiness to support the training of technical specialists in Uzbekistan, including not only engineers but also qualified mid-level specialists. In this regard, special attention was paid to the experience of the Turin Polytechnic Institute in Tashkent and the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization."
Uzbekistan's cooperation with UNESCO continues to expand, opening new prospects for modernizing education and training specialists who meet global market demands.
