Samarkand Region Targets Belarusian Breeding Stock and Joint Processing Ventures

Belarus and Samarkand Region have discussed expanding cooperation in the agro-industrial sector amid growing bilateral trade in agricultural products. The sides identified areas for further increasing trade and developing joint projects in agricultural processing.
According to the information provided, meat and meat products accounted for 63.8% of Belarusian exports to Uzbekistan in 2026. Supplies of meat products increased by 18.6%, dairy products doubled, sugar and chocolate exports grew fivefold, while shipments of live animals more than doubled.
At the same time, Uzbekistan’s exports to Belarus also increased. Supplies of fruit and berries rose by 112.3%, vegetables and melons by 102.9%, and water and alcoholic beverages by 105.2%.
The Belarusian side expressed readiness to increase supplies of poultry, beef, dairy products, baby food and sugar.
Samarkand Region, in turn, is interested in importing Belarusian breeding livestock and increasing purchases of meat products. Another area under consideration is the establishment of joint ventures for processing fruit and vegetables, dairy products and meat.
