Scientists predict the Gulf Stream will stop by 2025

Experts are concerned that in the coming years, melting glaciers could bring the Gulf Stream, a system of currents that brings heat to the northern hemisphere, to a halt, the Daily Mail reports. Without this important heat source, average temperatures in North America, parts of Asia and Europe could drop by several degrees, with severe and cascading consequences around the world.
Experts have warned that the possibility of an abrupt cessation of currents in the Atlantic Ocean seems more likely than ever. Scientists from Utrecht University in the Netherlands cannot determine the exact time of a possible collapse, although it was previously suggested that it could happen as early as next year.
Experts predict that the European climate could cool by 1-3°C in a decade, leading to a southward expansion of Arctic sea ice.
Analysis by climate scientists indicates that by 2080, the global average temperature will be 3.4°C lower than in 2023.
