Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Chair of Uzbekistan’s National Paralympic Committee, has been elected to the Executive Bureau of World Aquatics — a major step toward enhancing the country’s global presence in aquatic sports.
During the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, the congress of the World Aquatics Federation convened to discuss key issues related to the global development of water sports, improving organizational efficiency, and reforming governance structures.
One of the congress’s most significant outcomes was the formation of a new Executive Bureau. Among those elected was Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, who also serves as First Deputy Director of Uzbekistan’s National Agency for Social Protection.
Her election to one of the highest decision-making bodies in aquatic sports not only elevates the standing of Uzbek professionals internationally but is also expected to contribute to the development of swimming infrastructure and youth-focused aquatic programs in Uzbekistan.
