Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pay an Official Visit to Malaysia on February 4-5

Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Malaysia on February 4-5 at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the presidential press service reported.
During the visit, bilateral talks with Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur, meetings with the heads of Malaysia’s leading companies, a joint business forum, and other events are planned.
The high-level negotiations will focus on strengthening Uzbekistan-Malaysia friendly relations and expanding practical cooperation in priority areas such as trade, investment, innovation, technological cooperation, petrochemicals, electronics, green energy, smart agriculture, tourism, and others. Special attention will be given to enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The leaders will also discuss key issues of international politics and regional cooperation.
At the end of the summit, a joint statement and a package of significant agreements aimed at deepening the comprehensive partnership between the two countries are expected to be signed.
Ahead of the visit, several important events are taking place in Malaysia.
In particular, a meeting of leading analytical and research institutions has already been held. In the coming days, presentations on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and cultural heritage, a forum of rectors from leading universities of both countries, and other events are scheduled.
For reference, on May 17-19, 2023, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim paid an official visit to Uzbekistan.
