Shomurodov named Player of the Year, Kapadze Coach of the Year in Uzbekistan

The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) held an awards ceremony in Tashkent on January 30 to honor the best representatives of national football in 2025.

The Player of the Year award went to Eldor Shomurodov, striker of the Uzbekistan national team and Turkish club Istanbul Başakşehir. His consistent performances for the national team and on the international stage were decisive factors.

Timur Kapadze was named Coach of the Year after leading Uzbekistan’s national team to its first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup — one of the country’s biggest football achievements.

The Karakalpakstan Football Association was recognized as the best regional football association in the country.

Several awards in women’s football were claimed by representatives of the Sevinch club from Karshi. Diyora Habibullayeva became the league’s top scorer with 31 goals and was also named Women’s Player of the Year. Vladislav Khan, who led Sevinch to the championship title, was named Women’s Coach of the Year, while Nilufar Kudratova was recognized as the best player of the women’s championship.

Sadriddin Hasanov was named Best Young Player of the Year. In 2025, he won the AFC U17 Asian Cup with Uzbekistan’s youth team and was voted the tournament’s best player.

Pakhtakor, Nasaf and Bunyodkor clubs received special awards for contributing the highest number of players to the national teams.

In youth football, Yusuf Ergashev of the Bunyodkor academy was named Coach of the Year.

Among referees, Ilgiz Tantashov was named Referee of the Year. He officiated key matches at the FIFA Club World Cup and international tournaments and was included in the list of candidates for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Nasibabonu Toshmuhammedova was recognized as the Best Female Referee of the Year.

The honorary award “Patriarch of Our Football” was presented to Ahrol Inoyatov for his long-term contribution to the development of Uzbek football, his playing career at Pakhtakor, and his coaching and administrative work.
