The World Boxing Association (WBA) has released its updated rankings of professional boxers, featuring six Uzbek fighters who have once again secured their positions. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbekistan Professional Boxing Federation.
According to the source, there were no major changes in the rankings for Uzbek boxers, except for Hasanboy Dusmatov, who dropped one spot. Updated WBA Rankings:
Hasanboy Dusmatov (minimum weight) – 2nd place (previously ranked 1st);
Murodjon Akhmadaliev (super bantamweight) – interim champion;
Otabek Kholmatov (featherweight) – 4th place (same as last month);
Shakhram Giyasov (welterweight) – 1st place (retained his position);
Israil Madrimov (super welterweight) – 4th place (unchanged from the previous ranking);
Bektemir Melikuziev (super middleweight) – 3rd place (same as last month).
Notably, if Murodjon Akhmadaliev defeats his Japanese opponent Naoya Inoue, he will become the undisputed champion. However, Inoue has so far avoided the fight. Akhmadaliev has repeatedly challenged him to a bout. In his January 31 interview, he stated: "There is no better fight than my bout against Inoue. We are constantly told ‘next time, next time,’ and it’s becoming unbearable. If this continues, Inoue should vacate the WBA belt," said Akhmadaliev.
