The US expressed gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his assistance in organizing and fully financing the flight, on which 131 citizens of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan were deported from New York to Tashkent. The operation, which took place on April 30 aboard the Boeing-787 Uzbekistan Airways aircraft, was called "historic" and exemplary in Washington.
The US Department of Homeland Security stated that this step demonstrates a high level of trust and cooperation between countries in the security sphere and sets the standard for other allies. Minister Christie Noem emphasized that Washington intends to further strengthen its partnership with Tashkent in the interests of "maintaining the rule of law."
According to Fox News, this is the first such case of international repatriation since Donald Trump's second term began. The Kazakhs and Kyrgyz who were among the deported will be sent back to their countries upon arrival in Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan noted that the repatriation was organized in accordance with humanitarian and legal norms in order to ensure the safe return of compatriots to their homeland.
