Uzbekistan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the priority tasks to be implemented in the preschool and school education system in 2025.
The development of school education has become a nationwide initiative. Over the past seven years, construction and repair work have been completed in more than 5,000 schools, including 608 schools this year. Opportunities for youth to learn a second foreign language and vocational skills have been expanded. Inclusive education has been introduced for the first time in 530 schools.
In the next academic year, over 100 new schools will be established, creating 257,000 student places. The state education program will be aligned with international standards. The number of schools teaching a second foreign language will increase to 420, and vocational training will be available in 400 schools.
A digitalized system for awarding qualification categories to teachers has also been introduced. Teachers who upgrade their qualifications will be incentivized, receiving up to a 70% bonus based on their accumulated scores.
To attract qualified leaders to educational institutions and support their work, it was proposed to provide material incentives for school and kindergarten principals and their deputies using additional funding sources.
In accordance with the Presidential Decree of Uzbekistan dated November 15 this year, attention has been focused on the pre-conscription basic training system. In senior grades, military-patriotic classes have been increased by one hour. To elevate the status of teachers in this field, a system of awarding military ranks to them has been introduced.
By the next academic year, new textbooks for this subject will be developed, and highly qualified teachers will be recruited. In collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, 208 educational institutions will establish “Courage Schools.”
The President instructed that efforts to develop the education sector should be prioritized in all regions, with special attention to remote areas to improve the quality of general education.
