Medical workforce development, healthcare digitalization, and the adoption of advanced technologies became the key focus of Uzbekistan's working visit to Russia. The two sides discussed joint educational programs, professional internships, and the introduction of best practices into Uzbekistan's healthcare system.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation examined Russia's comprehensive medical education system, covering every stage from career guidance and nursing education to postgraduate physician training and leadership development for healthcare managers.
Particular attention was paid to practice-oriented education, simulation-based training, unified systems for assessing professional competencies, and continuing medical education. The parties also explored opportunities for launching joint educational programs, training instructors, and organizing internships for Uzbek healthcare professionals.
The delegation also studied Moscow's modern healthcare management model, including digital healthcare standards, next-generation outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary hospitals, pediatric care, palliative services, laboratory diagnostics, and telemedicine solutions powered by artificial intelligence.
In addition, Uzbek specialists reviewed advanced surgical training methods using simulation technologies and modern digital laboratory management systems.
Following the meetings, both sides agreed to develop a joint cooperation roadmap covering expert support for pilot projects, the introduction of modern competency assessment methods, and the expansion of digital healthcare initiatives.
As part of the visit, the delegation also met with Uzbek doctors, researchers, lecturers, and students working and studying in leading Russian medical institutions. The discussions focused on engaging highly qualified compatriots in Uzbekistan's healthcare reforms and creating a professional network for knowledge exchange and expert cooperation.
