The Accounts Chamber is tightening financial control
On July 23, President Mirziyoyev was presented with a report on the State Audit Office’s reforms, implemented following a presidential decree from July 10, 2024. The office has adopted new auditing methods — financial, compliance, performance, and strategic audits — replacing outdated inspection approaches.

Now operating not only as a watchdog but also as a partner in enforcing fiscal discipline, the Audit Office helped prevent 5.6 trillion sums in ineffective spending and identified 5 trillion sums in additional revenue reserves in just six months.

A major contributor to these results is the introduction of the “Remote Audit” digital system, which has helped resolve violations totaling 4 trillion sums. The President has ordered the integration of artificial intelligence to prevent repeat offenses.

Control centers created in 12 ministries last year proved successful and will now be extended to 10 more agencies. The country is also aligning public audits with international standards, particularly for projects funded by external loans.

Progress was also presented on the “People’s Oversight” platform, which will allow citizens to report issues related to construction, utilities, water, energy, and transportation. All ministries and regional governments will be connected to the system, which will be enhanced with AI, call centers, and vertical oversight tools.

The President instructed officials to further strengthen executive discipline and ensure targeted and efficient use of budget funds.
