The UEFA Champions League Final, which will be held on June 10 this year at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, will bring the Turkish metropolis an economic benefit of 75 million euros. This is reported by Anadolu
"This year's Champions League final will be held in Istanbul. Turkey's tourism revenues in 2022 amounted to 44 billion euros, 40 percent of which came from Istanbul. Taking into account these data, we can assume that the final match will bring Istanbul a profit of 75 million euros," said Avshar Gurdal, Mastercard CEO for Turkey and Azerbaijan, which is the main sponsor of the Champions League.
Murat Cagri Suser, Deputy CEO of BBVA, Turkish Guarantor, said that fans began to spend more money on sports memorabilia during important games.
"For example, on the eve of the games, fans make about 3.5 times more purchases in the stores of their favorite teams. In addition, on game days, total expenses in restaurants increase by 23 percent," he said.
