German Siemens plans to implement joint projects worth 3.4 billion euros in Uzbekistan. The company will build combined-cycle gas plants in Surkhandarya, as well as photovoltaic power plants in Navoi region.

Yesterday, on May 31, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Sarvar Khamidov received Ariel Porat, President for the European Region of the German company Siemens Energy.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects worth 3.4 billion euros, including the construction of a combined-cycle gas plant in Surkhandarya region, as well as photovoltaic and thermal power plants based on Navoiazot JSC.

In addition, the prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalization, metallurgy, electrical engineering, hydrogen energy, as well as the oil and gas industry were outlined in the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the approval of a joint "roadmap" based on the results of negotiations with the inclusion of specific investment projects, step-by-step mechanisms and exact deadlines for implementation.
