In the next session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the draft concept of state policy in the religious sphere and ensuring citizens' freedom of conscience was discussed. This document outlines the main goals of state religious policy, aimed at creating equal conditions for citizens, strengthening interfaith harmony, and ensuring religious tolerance.

The draft concept is expected to be approved by law. It plays an important role in realizing citizens' right to freedom of conscience, establishing mutual respect and reconciliation between religious organizations, and ensuring secularism in society. The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Law on "Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations" serve as a solid foundation for guaranteeing this right.

In recent years, especially since 2017, new approaches to ensuring the right to freedom of conscience have been implemented in Uzbekistan. In this direction, the state has carried out activities to improve religious and cultural sites, develop pilgrimage tourism, and improve the religious education system. For example, quotas for pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia were increased, resulting in over 800,000 Muslims benefiting from this opportunity.

Moreover, the document proposes measures aimed at preventing the spread of ideas that undermine gender equality, introducing religious norms into social relations, and questioning citizens' equal rights. The concept plays an important role in ensuring equal rights for citizens, strengthening religious tolerance in society, and protecting secularism.

The adoption and implementation of this concept will create a unified state policy in the country and ensure the guarantees of citizens' equal rights. To ensure effective control over the implementation of the concept, it is proposed to establish a parliamentary commission.
