The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan summed up the results of fruitful negotiations
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif said that their meeting opens a new page in the strategic partnership of the two countries.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed:

Expand trade and economic cooperation. In recent years, the trade turnover between the countries has exceeded $400 million, and the goal has been set to increase this figure several times. An important role in this will be played by 130 joint ventures, as well as the resumption of flights between Tashkent and Lahore.

Launch new projects in industry. The focus is on pharmaceuticals, agricultural machinery, geology, textiles, and the leather industry.

Develop transport corridors. In particular, the "Uzbekistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan" multimodal route and the Trans-Afghan railway project.

Strengthen cooperation in the field of security. The need to jointly combat terrorism, transnational crime, and drug trafficking was confirmed.

Expand cultural, humanitarian, and tourist exchanges. Within the framework of the "Umrah Plus" program, the countries agreed to increase tourist flows, as well as organize cultural and art festivals.

Following the negotiations, a decision was made to develop a "roadmap" for the implementation of all agreements reached. Uzbekistan and Pakistan intend to further strengthen their strategic partnership and expand bilateral cooperation in key areas.
