On July 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The steps to further strengthen the strategic partnership and expand practical cooperation were discussed.
President Mirziyoyev noted Qatar's contribution to the stabilization of the Middle East and expressed satisfaction with the active development of Uzbekistan-Qatar contacts. The growth of mutual trade, investments, and the promotion of major industrial and infrastructure projects was noted.
The parties emphasized the importance of the upcoming events - the first meeting of the Coordination Council, the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, and the business forum. The schedule of further high-level meetings was also discussed.
