During his visit to the Syrdarya region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the development work carried out in the Buston mahalla in the city of Gulistan.
The Buston mahalla has been improved this year. All apartment buildings have been renovated, and a new building for the mahalla center has been commissioned.
The President first held a dialogue with the mahalla's activists, veterans, and youth. At the meeting, it was emphasized that the results of reforms aimed at addressing problems at the grassroots level, improving the welfare of mahallas, and improving living conditions are also reflected in the Syrdarya region.
"The mahalla is the face of society. All changes in the country are first evident here. We have created a system in which many issues that were previously considered serious are now resolved right in the mahalla itself. We will continue to strengthen this institution," the President noted.
To improve heat supply, a modern boiler house was built at a cost of 18 billion soums, along with 3.3 kilometers of heating mains.
Twenty-three individual heating units were installed in apartment buildings, enabling the creation of a closed-loop heating system. Internal heating systems in 20 high-rise buildings, comprising 800 apartments, were restored using local budget funds. A preschool is now equipped with centralized heating and hot water.
The new boiler house will save 144,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 627,000 cubic meters of natural gas.
The President gave the necessary instructions to continue work aimed at creating comfortable living conditions for residents of high-rise buildings, using modern technologies in the construction and operation of boiler houses, and recruiting qualified specialists.
A discussion was also held with representatives of the "Semeraya Semeraya" and the older generation about the changes taking place in the mahalla and the region.
Based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on infrastructure development in the Syrdarya Region, a target list has been compiled for 215 multi-story buildings in the region. As part of this program, work is underway to repair the roofs and facades of the buildings, improve heating systems, utilities, and improve the surrounding area.
