The President issued a final warning due to disruptions in gas supply

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a videoconference meeting sharply criticized the work of the government and responsible agencies for delaying the implementation of reforms. Special attention was paid to disruptions in the supply of liquefied gas and issues of increasing energy efficiency in the context of the upcoming summer load on power grids.
The Head of State emphasized that the weak executive discipline of a number of ministers and responsible persons leads to the delay in reforms and the accumulation of social tension.
One of the most pressing issues was the interruption in the supply of liquefied gas. "Now, on hot days, there are already serious problems with gas. And what will happen in winter, what will people cook on?" the President said. He noted that in Andijan and Surkhandarya regions, up to 70% of citizens' appeals are related to this problem.
"A final warning to the leaders: if no solution is found within two weeks, let them voluntarily vacate their positions," Shavkat Mirziyoyev demanded.
The risks associated with the increase in electricity consumption due to the onset of heat were also discussed. The President recalled that two months ago, the Energy Efficiency Agency was established and 100 billion soums were allocated from the budget. Now, the Ministry of Energy, the agency, as well as khokimiyats and state-owned enterprises are tasked with identifying employees with monthly energy consumption exceeding 500 kWh and supporting them in transitioning to energy-saving technologies.
It was emphasized that such citizens will be able to receive "green loans," subsidies, or subsidies from extra-budgetary sources for the modernization of energy systems in their homes.
As the President noted, by the end of the year, at least 100 thousand households should switch to energy-efficient systems.
